Board of Trustees

The Banning Library District is governed by a Board of Library Trustees. There are five board members elected at large from the District who serve without pay for four-year staggered terms and may be re-elected.  Elections are held biannually in event numbered years on the same day as state general elections, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The Library Board of Trustees meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Conference Room. All Board meetings are open to the public.

Kathy Little says:
As a child, I have fond memories of participating in Banning Library’s annual Summer Reading Programs. In elementary school, I visited the library biweekly as part of our school reading program.  In high school, my friends and I spent hours combing the stacks for information for our research papers. As an adult, I am honored to serve the Banning Library District as a trustee. I look forward to supporting the library’s current programs and look forward to expanding digital opportunities, explore adult and children literacy programs and maintain and expand the  library’s historical collection.

Loretta Cousar says:
Moving into a new community with a desire to continue volunteering and making a worthwhile contribution within one's new community is not an easy feat. Reading has been my passion since childhood. When I was researching volunteering opportunities within our community, I lucked upon this amazing opportunity to submit my interest to sit on the Banning Library Board of Trustees. I was extremely excited to pursue this opportunity due to the fact it was in alignment with my personal interest and pursuit to stay active in the community as well as impact other lives through the power of reading!

I am a life learner and educator. I have years of experience as an educator, administrator, counselor, teacher and serving on many boards, San Gabriel Valley YWCA, San Gabriel Valley NAACP, and Group Homes to name a few.

To quote JK Rowling "When it doubt go to the library."

My experience with the Banning Library is one of growth to help build for generations to come by expanding opportunities for the community through improving the beauty of the library and updating the digital aspects for better opportunities for all ages.
