Grant Application Guidelines
Mission Statement: We are organized and operated by volunteers exclusively for charitable 501(c)(3) purposes to help meet the needs in our community and the greater San Gorgonio Pass area.

Your grant request will not be placed on the agenda until it is received on the application form. Do not copy this form into any other format. It is designed to be uniform for specific purposes and must be submitted as is. Please review the following information when filling out your application.

  1. Eligible charitable organizations must be located in, and/or directly benefit the residents of the San Gorgonio Pass area, defined by Calimesa, Beaumont, Cherry Valley, Banning, and Cabazon, California.

  2. Requests must be from non-profit, charitable organizations which have received a 501(c)(3) determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service prior to receipt of a grant. A tax identification number and a copy of the 501(c)(3) determination letter are required before an organization can receive a grant. If this is the first application your agency has made to the Sun Lakes Charitable Trust, you must submit a copy of your 501(c)(3) determination letter from the IRS with this application. It is your responsibility to determine whether we need this form from you; your grant application will not be considered without it.

  3. Eligible charitable organizations must be in good standing with the California State Charity Registry.

  4. No telephone or verbal requests will be considered.

  5. Grants are neither given nor withheld based on past grant requests.

  6. Charitable organizations must report annually how the funds provided were used.

  7. The Board of Directors and Officers of the Sun Lakes Charity Trust are responsible for distribution of all funding and their decision is final.
