Board of Trustees

The Banning Library District is governed by a Board of Library Trustees. There are five board members elected at large from the District who serve without pay for four-year staggered terms and may be re-elected.  Elections are held biannually in even numbered years on the same day as state general elections, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The Library Board of Trustees meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Conference Room. All Board meetings are open to the public.

Kathy Little says:
As a child, I have fond memories of participating in Banning Library’s annual Summer Reading Programs. In elementary school, I visited the library biweekly as part of our school reading program.  In high school, my friends and I spent hours combing the stacks for information for our research papers. As an adult, I am honored to serve the Banning Library District as a trustee. I look forward to supporting the library’s current programs and look forward to expanding digital opportunities, explore adult and children literacy programs and maintain and expand the  library’s historical collection.

Chantal Cedillo says:

I discovered the joy of reading at the age of seven. I became instantly drawn to the magic, the mystery, the people, described in that first book, my imagination was widely opened. From that time on, I have been addicted to libraries. While I have been an American in this country for 56 years, my strong accent reveals that I was not born in the USA. I am French. Although this fact, appears to have nothing to do with my appointment as a trustee to the Banning Library, I hope that it still might convey that I shall be able to bring and offer bits of different points of view and ideas.
My hope for the Banning Library is, because of the location of where I live, at the opposite end of the city, I might be able to communicate to more residents where, how much they miss by not visiting our newly renovated building and enjoy so much of what it has to offer.
